It would be nice to see some one that was able to compete with Google. It seems as each day goes by Google is taking more and more of the market.

But.. Who will go beyond 250 in Google.. I mean.. No one ever goes to 25th page..

So.. Thats a clever idea by Clusty.com.

However.. Google is simply the best..

While now a days so many search engines are coming into play so i think that the three big giants Google, MSN and yahoo must have been outplayed upto some extent by these new search engines.

One thing about clusty.com that it only shows top 250 search results, nevertheless these help alot but in Google we can go beyond that as well.

I think people have begun to lose site of the little guys in terms of search engines. While Google, MSN (live), Yahoo!, and even ASK account for over 99% of the search market when you have 100s of millions of searches a day even 1 percent is a market.

Niched search engines are still relevant and even important, however hakia is not a niche search engine. Can it compete? I don't think so...they will need to revolutionize organic search and when you couple google's history of innovation with 4 billion in cash I can't see how anyone can compete with the search engine.

Clusty.com seems to achieve the same results. Search on a keyword and the results are clustered into groups on the left side. You can then click on the '+' symbol to further narrow that cluster.

With regards to search engines, I would like to see a search engine that filters commercial sites. If I do a search for 'Heart' I don't want to see any websites that are selling CDs of the group Heart, or any sites that are selling heart monitors. I would think that this would be a fairly simple task.

With regards to Google, I suspect that many web users have started to 'think like Google.' What I mean is when we search we enter keywords that Google likes. The biggest obstacle to using a new search engine might be to break the Google mindset.
