Google Analytics for WordPress
November 15th, 2010
Google used to recommend adding your analytics code to the footer. Now they recommend adding it to the header. While you can still manually add this to your header.php file, some plug-ins may conflict with code, thus causing your analytics to stop working. This plug-in prevents such problems and automatically adds the code for you based on settings you can configure. It also offers advanced options for tracking things like clicks on outbound links.
The program offers a few ways to authenticate with Google but I find the easiest way is to simply copy the UA code number and add it manually to the settings.
