CPA Site Redesign Goal

To replace the old CPA site with one that would better convey it's mission, engage community stakeholders, educate the public, provide resources for artists, and showcase CPA projects.

My Role in the CPA project

As a CPA trustee, and member of the marketing committee, my primary role in the project was to work with the CPA staff to develop our site goals and strategy. In this role I:

  • Edited the request for design proposals to ensure proposals would adhere to technical requirements such as Web standards and semantic mark-up that would aid usability, marketing and search engine optimization.
  • Worked with the CPA staff to identify our target audience and develop a site content outline that would meet the needs of both our goals and those of our site visitors.
  • Reviewed site proposals with staff to select five firms as final candidates.
  • Met with staff and design candidates to view presentations and choose a design firm best suited to our needs.
  • Reviewed design prototypes throughout the development process, and offered suggestions on technical and content changes that would aid in marketing, navigation and usability.
CPA Web Site Designer

Given the local focus of CPA, we felt it was very important to choose a company from the region. After meeting with several very talented firms we selected The Form Group in Shaker Heights, Ohio.

"FORM is founded on the belief that superior visual design leads to more effective communication, understanding, and ultimately, a better society."

CPA Project Feedback

"Cleveland Public Art was fortunate to have Heidi Cool’s help during the redesign of our website. From the early stages until the launch of the site, Heidi was there to provide her technical expertise and to make sure that we were getting all that we wanted out of our website. She was especially helpful in the beginning stages of the process, helping us to think about what our goals were for the site and how we wanted the site to function."
